Like for real…they did it by hand, with cash, and it took them three years (1981-84). ![]() Also, my parents designed and built this house themselves. This is the kitchen in my home from ages 0-19. My mom, pregnant with me, in their almost finished kitchen. I just texted my mom to see if she has a good picture I can share.īoom, there it is. Same layout and size, more modern finishes. I basically just redesigned my childhood kitchen. I just realized something, literally while typing that above sentence. Same amount of workspace and seating, less square footage. Kitchen islands are all the rage these days, but for a small kitchen, a peninsula makes way more sense. I chose a U-shaped kitchen, because that made the best use of the space.
